Look who wants a forever home!:
My name is Dusty, and 2023 has been pretty rough. I had been living outside in a neighborhood that has a lot of stray cats. A very kind woman realized how sweet I was and decided to bring me inside to be safe and warm. My new mom was simply THE best. She made sure I was seen at the vet, where I got fixed and got a clean bill of health. (I do have a scar on my eye, but it doesn't bother me--they said it gives me a distinguished look!) A few weeks ago my amazing person passed away. Her niece reached out to BAR for help and they brought me into a foster home. I've been "decompressing" from all the changes I've had to go through the past couple weeks.
My foster parents absolutely adore me. They say I'm just stunning and so handsome (and apparently a little cross-eyed! It just adds to my charm!). They've been introducing me to the resident critters--and I'm slowly coming around. I was an only kitty in a very calm home--so this is a pretty big change! They think I would do great with kiddos and would probably enjoy having a furry friend (it might take a bit for us to become friends--but they say I'll be a buddy in no time with proper introductions!)
Oh! aside from being gorgeous and sweet, I am SUPER playful! When my foster met me at MY house, I was throwing around toys, dancing, jumping and playing! So they know I've got just the best purrrrsonality!!
Dusty is a domestic short haired grey (silver) tabby, a little over 1 year. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV, and is microchipped. For more information contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
IVAN
DOB: 8/19/22
DSH brown tabby M
Hi! I’m Ivan! My foster family says I am THE sweetest boy! I love playing with the other kittens in my home. I definitely need a playful kitty friend in my forever home (check out my buddy, Inez!) I can often be found batting a toy around and snuggling on the couch with my foster parents. I’ve grown rather fond of my foster dad (he gives THE BEST booty scratches!) Mom’s cool—but Dad’s the man. Once you lock in the booty, I will follow you all around the house begging for more! I get shy when new people come around, but seriously-scratch that butt and I’m putty in your hands! I’ve been fostered with other kitties and large cat-friendly dogs. I would do fine with respectful kids who would be patient until I get completely comfortable. I was a stray kitten living at the Prison in Douglas. The inmates really love the local kitties and are very kind to us. I had a bad kitty cold, so the inmates had a guard bring me to Border Animal Rescue! Now I’m healthy, happy, and ready to join your family!!
I am neutered, microchipped, current on FVRCP & Rabies Vaccines, de-wormed and tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV.

Inez
Female Kitten. My brother Indy and I were found as tiny, sick strays. Now we're big, healthy and super sweet! I'm a bit shy at first, but pick me up and I'm all purrs. I'm snuggly and I love the other kitties in my foster home. I'm used to big, cat-friendly dogs. I love to play and I would do well with older kids. BonBon
DOB: 11/15/21
DSH Buff tabby & white-F
I’m just as sweet as a BonBon! I’m still a little shy, but with love and understanding I could be your forever girl! I was living in a lumberyard getting pets and love from the employees—but they wanted a better life for me, so they asked Border Animal Rescue to help find my forever family. I’m currently being fostered in a calm home with other cats and a small dog. Since moving to this home, I have REALLY come into my own! I am more confident, loving, and sweet. I do love the companionship of other kitties, but they think I’d be ok as an only kitty, too! My foster mom says I am just a complete love and am ready for my FOREVER family! I would probably do well with older kids who can be patient as I become confident and can settle into my new place.
I am spayed, microchipped, current of FVRCP & Rabies vaccines, de-wormed, and tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV

CADENCE
DOB: 7/1/22 - Ginger, Female. Hello, hello! My name is Cadence! I was living outside with my sisters. We were pretty wild and we were ill. We were brought into a foster home where we received lots of love and care. Now I’m very healthy. My foster mom says I look like a lioness and that I have such pretty eyes! I love playing with toys, especially strings and feather toys. I’m still shy from living outside, but I like my back scratched very much! I love snuggling with my sisters, but not people, and don’t like being picked up, so if you’re looking for a lap cat, I’m not that (yet). I’m told that I have the cutest personality: I can often be seen sitting far too close to the TV watching my foster’s favorite shows! I’ve been around big, cat-friendly dogs and other cats. I am spayed, microchipped, current on FVRCP & Rabies vaccines, de-wormed, and tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV. If you’re looking for a sweet, adorable cat, I’m your girl. For more information contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
Meet Lettie and Baker!
Lettie and Baker are a bonded pair who need to be adopted together.
Lettie is very sweet but a bit shy girl. She a kind kitten that gets along with everyone. She has been tested for FIV and feline leukemia, current on her vaccines and is microchipped.
Baker (dob 9/15/17) Meet Baker!!! This Big Boy will melt your heart with his love and his story. He was the companion to a man who was in and out of the hospital for months at a time. A kind lady would go and feed him—take care of his basic needs—but he MISSED having his person. His dad is still in the hospital and decided it was best to let this Big Boy find a home where he could get the love he craved! He’s been hanging out in his foster home where it took him a couple weeks to get used to not being alone so much. His foster home is quite busy with lots of other foster kitties and large cat-friendly dogs. Baker gets along with everyone! He has REALLLLLY warmed up to his foster dad (mom’s cool… but dad’s better). He loves to sit on the couch and get booty scratches. (We call him Rump-Shaker-Baker during booty scratchin’ time.) He’s a total ham. SO people-oriented.
Baker is neutered, current on FVRCP & Rabies, tested negative for Leukemia & FIV, has a clean bill of health with his bloodwork, is microchipped, and litter-box-trained.
We believe Lettie and Baker should stay together so strongly we're offering a special adoption fee for adopting both. Adoption fee is $95 for both. Usually the adoption fee is $95 per cat. Contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]

Hi, I’m Ray, and I’m a cool and crazy playful dude who is a little shy. I will take some time to get used to you (and might play “catch me if you can” at first) but then will realize I like being petted by you and will purr away. Especially when it’s mealtime, since I love my food! I was born outside with my pals Brindi and Shayla, and we each have a fashionable “eartip” from our days on the street. I love other cats, I like the dogs I’ve met, and I think I would like older children. I’m about 5 months old, neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLv tested, and microchipped. For more information contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
STAR
DSH, F, grey & white, DOB: 8/15/15.
Hello, I’m Star! I’d been living happily with my mom, and she unexpectedly passed away. Her family wanted me to be safe and loved, so they reached out to Border Animal Rescue to find a new forever family. I would love to be in a home where I can be spoiled! Jumping isn’t my strong suit, so I tend to stay grounded. I am a little shy, but I am happy to come out for snuggles and show you my rolling on my back skills. I’d like a quiet home. I am good with other cats and doggos. I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. For more information contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
Meet Yaya! Yaya was born March 26, 2022. It took her current owner a few months for her to trust people. She looks big for her age. She is a very good girl! She likes other cats. She is spayed and has had her first shots. Asking $30.00 rehoming fee. Please contact [email protected] for more information. (courtesy post)
Meet Greek. Greek was born 4/15/22, She was rescued when she was 5 weeks old. Greek is a good girl, and gets along with other cats. She’s a bit shy at first with new people. She has had her first shots, and is spayed. Owner is asking for a $30.00 rehoming fee. For more information, email [email protected] (Courtesy post)
Marigold is a stunning tabby lady who is being fostered along with her sister, Daisy. Marigold is a bit shyer with people than her sister and took a few days longer to warm up to her foster mom. However, she really went all in when she decided to let her new mom love her. She has a beautiful, deep, melodic meow and enjoys having conversations with her foster mom. She and her sister, Daisy, love each other and love their foster mom, following her wherever she goes in the house. They both love running water and enjoy a drink and a chance to play in the bathroom sink. Though shyer than her sister, don’t be fooled, Marigold is the queen of the cats, and Daisy follows her lead. Contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
Daisy is a special tabby lady who is being fostered along with her sister, Marigold. Daisy has a pretty, unique smile due to some crooked teeth. She loves to play with string teaser toys and she is an aerial artist! She can jump very high, performing twists and flips to catch the feather on the string. She likes very gentle pets and sometimes gets edgy and will gently nip you if you aren’t petting her the way she likes. For this reason, she should probably go to a home with adults and older children. She and her sister, Marigold, love each other and love their foster mom, following her wherever she goes in the house. They both love running water and enjoy a drink and a chance to play in the bathroom sink. Contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]
Contessa is about a year old (Nov 2022), a white-with-gray-spots spayed female who is quite sweet. She is quiet and gentle. This girl has potential to be the center of someone's universe. She is absolutely a heart-stealer. She is good with other cats, unknown with dogs & children. She is vaccinated, FIV/FELV-tested, microchipped, & litter-box-trained. Contact Kerry at ((520) 227-4735.

LENNOX:
DOB: 12/15/21
DSH Black & White tux M
Lennox and his family were living behind a local Chinese restaurant. He was so incredibly sweet—sitting on the employees laps during breaks, begging for love. Unfortunately, none of them could take him home. We were able to bring him, his brother, and his kittens into our adoption program. Mama was a wild child who wanted to live the outside life, still. We got her spayed and let her go back home. 😊 Lennox is the gentlest soul. He’s living in his foster home with his kittens and is the cutest cat-daddy you’ve ever met! He’s so snuggly and loving—he should definitely have a kitty friend at his new place. (He’d love for his forever home to adopt one of his kids once they’re big enough to be vetted). He’s a little shy at first. He’s had a lot of changes in the past couple weeks. But he’s settling into the indoor life like a pro! He likes to be pet and get booty scratches. He hasn’t proven to be a lap cat in his foster home YET, but the employees swear he is! He would do well in a calmer home where he can settle in and get adjusted without stress. Though he hasn’t been around children, we think he’d do well with older kids who will be patient with him. We think he’d be sleeping on the foot of their bed in no time! If you would like to give Daddy-of-the-Year the forever family he deserves, pick Lennox (and maybe one of his kids??)
He is neutered, microchipped, current on FVRCP & Rabies Vaccines, de-wormed and tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV. For more information contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]

Hi there! I’m Celeste!! I was living outside with my sisters Camille and Cadence! We were pretty wild and ill. We were brought into a foster home where we received lots of love and care. I’m still a bit shy, but my foster mom is working with me every day. I love having my back scratched by my foster mom, and food is my favorite thing in the world! I love to play with feather toys and to hang out with my sisters. I get along great with all the other cats and large, cat-friendly dogs. I’d probably do best in a quieter home where my purrsonality can really blossom and I can be the center of your world. I need to be adopted with one (or both) of my sisters, so ask BAR about special adoption pricing. I am spayed, microchipped, current on FVRCP & Rabies vaccines, de-wormed, and tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV. Rocky is a brown tabby male born 9/15/22. He is neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FELV tested, microchipped and litter box trained. Rocky is a handsome brown tabby kitten that came to us from the Douglas Prison. The guards and inmates work together to get the kittens to rescue and to help fix the adult cats.
Rocky is currently fostered in a home with many cats of all ages and purrsonalities! He's also great with the large and small cat-friendly dogs in the foster home. Rocky is VERY playful. VERYYYYY playful. He must have another kitty he can wrestle and chase with. He also plays pretty rough. Sometimes he really gets into it and will bite harder than he means to. Because of this, Rocky could go to a home with older kids only-sorry no little ones for this busy guy!
Rocky is also extremely affectionate. He is ALWAYS in bed between his foster parents purring away--just don't wiggle those toes too much! :) He loves to cuddle on the couch with his people and the other critters. He can often be found snuggled in a cat bed with furry friend! Rocky has been foster with Inez for a few months and the two of them play very well, in case two kitties might be something you're open to!

TYRE
DLH, M, black and white tuxedo. DOB 3/15/20
I’m Tyr and I’d been living happily with my mom, and she unexpectedly passed away. Her family wanted me to be safe and loved, so they reached out to Border Animal Rescue to find a new forever family for me. I’m appreciative of a good night’s rest. I am very snuggly and affectionate, just like my sister, Yoda. I am not afraid of big dogs or other cats. I am a floof, so I would require regular brushing to keep me looking as dapper as possible.
Tyr is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV, and microchipped.
Update: Adopted March 2023
YODA
DLH, F, dilute calico, dob: 3/15/20
Hi there! I’m Yoda. I’d been living happily with my mom, and she unexpectedly passed away. Her family wanted me to be safe and loved, so they reached out to Border Animal Rescue to find a new forever family for me. I am a floof but, I’m good at taking care of myself! I was stressed my first night in foster care, but once I got enough sleep, I was flaunting and flirting! I’m a purr machine and love to be pet and get attention. My preferred human will spoil me rotten and give me all the brushes. I think I’d be ok being an only kitty because I’m really only in it for the butt scratches and that requires thumbs. 😊
I am spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV, and microchipped.
Update: Adopted March 2023

I’ve been fostered with lots of kitties and large cat-friendly dogs. If you’re looking for the purrrrfect house-panther, I’m your girl (and don’t forget to check out my sisters Celeste and Camille). I need to be adopted with one (or both) of my sisters (because I need a playmate!), so ask BAR about special adoption pricing.
